Brass vs CPVC ball valve: which one for which job?
Short answer: Match the valve to the pipe system. Brass ball valves are for general plumbing lines. The brass CPVC union ball valve (brass body with CPVC union ends) is for CPVC pipe lines and is easy to remove for maintenance.
Brass ball valve (M-Tech range: 15, 20, 25, 32 mm)
- Brass body, quarter-turn operation.
- Shell test 25 kg/cm2 (350 psig) and seat test 16 kg/cm2 (225 psig) on M-Tech brass ball valves, 15 mm to 32 mm.
- Choose it when your line uses threaded fittings. Check the thread type before you order (BSP or NPT).
Brass CPVC union ball valve (M-Tech range: 20, 25 mm)
- Brass body with CPVC union ends, for hot and cold water CPVC lines.
- Fitted with CPVC solvent cement. The union lets you dismantle and re-assemble the valve during maintenance.
- Choose it when the rest of your line is CPVC pipe and you want a joint you can service.

| Your line | Valve |
